Curriculum

Seaham Preschool uses the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF, Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations for the Council of Australian Government) as a tool to guide our program. The key values of the framework are Belonging, Being, and Becoming. Our preschool is set on 1.5 acres at the end of a cul-de-sac providing us with a quiet, peaceful, and natural environment, away from the activity and hustle and bustle of the main road and town.

Our learning environments and educators reflect a play-based holistic approach to learning and support children to discover their own possibilities, encouraging them on their journey of education. Our educators are passionate about the education of children and supporting families through their child’s preschool experience.

Our curriculum embeds programs that support children as they develop. These include emotions and mindfulness sessions, cultural connections through language, music, art, and dance, looking after animals, pets, and natives, gardening, and sustainability, and caring for our Worimi country. Having the river so close to our preschool supports our journey of respecting our environment and how we can continue to protect it.
